Tae Kwan Do emerged in 1957 as a culmination of several arts, including Japanese Karate and Shotokan. Several "Kwans" form what we know today as Tae Kwan Do, and the World Taekwondo Federation was founded in 1965. The practice is most known for the high spinning kicks aimed at the core and the head.
